Ever wondered how bakeries achieve those buttery, flaky layers? This approachable class walks you through the lamination process step by step. You will leave with your own laminated dough and the croissants you shaped and baked!
How the class works: Students will laminate dough, lock in butter, fold, and shape croissants. We will have pre-prepared dough for you to shape and proof, while those rise you will laminate your made from scratch layered dough. When your shaped croissants are done proofing we will go over baking techniques, times and temps, and you will leave with fresh baked croissants and your own hand laminated dough to make more in the comfort of your own home, that way you can learn every step of making croissants.
What you’ll take home: A batch of warm, freshly baked croissants plus laminated dough to cut, proof and bake later.
DEPENDING ON PROOFING TIMES THIS CLASS WILL RUN AROUND 4 HOURS LONG.
Must Know Before Class: Classes are held at The Bake Studio at May’s Parlor (3497 Holland Rd, Suite 102, Virginia Beach). Please arrive 10–15 minutes early — classes begin promptly, and late arrivals may miss hands-on portions. Closed-toe shoes are required, and comfortable clothing is recommended (aprons provided). Our classes take place in a real working commercial bakery, so participants will sign a quick waiver upon arrival. We recommend having a snack or meal beforehand, as classes are focused on baking and food service is not provided. Need to sit with a friend booked separately? Within 5 days of class, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, though you are welcome to gift your spot to a friend.
